After some months away from blogging while I worked on the first draft of an upcoming novel, I’m excited to announce that on Saturday the 8th I’ll be signing copies of “Heartstrings in B-flat Minor” at BARBARA’S BOOKSTORE in Vernon Hills, IL. Later in the month I’ll be at another BARBARA’S BOOKSTORE location, in Burr Ridge, IL.
See “Media & Events” for more details on these appearances. If you’ll be in the area for either of them, it would be great to meet you. Please drop in and say hi, and I’ll be delighted to sign any number of books for you.
Shifting gears, tonight as I write this blog entry it still is D-Day. I’ve been in weird if not somber surroundings all day. Fog has been rolling in off the big inland sea a stone’s throw from my balcony, intensifying by evening. By nighttime, sadly, I heard through online channels that a writer friend of mine, a friend since high school, Carla Anne Ernst, had died last night.
Carla would’ve found a shred of humor in knowing word of her death was reaching some of her back-home friends in a fog. Carla was an amazing person. She will be missed. May she Rest In Peace.
In you’re looking for a change-of-pace read, try Carla’s unique book, “Life Without Pockets: My Long Journey into Womanhood.” Peace.
